Woodinville Wooded Patio
At this Woodinville, WA residence, SCJ Studio was invited to create a unique and inviting space by a repeat client. Located in a forested community, the home and landscape are surrounded by large evergreen trees. Nestled in a sunken patio surrounded by lush planting, a gas firepit invites guests to linger in the tamed wilderness near all the comforts of home. In harmony with the Pacific Northwest aesthetic of the property, custom steel panels echo forms of mountains and sky, in textures inspired by sockeye salmon and native trees. Basalt columns frame the panels while massive boulders provide seating and transition neatly into custom concrete stairs. Each stone reflects colors found in the concrete and steel, while vibrant planting creates lively contrast. Beyond the new garden and across the tidy lawn, a sedge meadow and bosque of Magnolia trees gently transition the ornamental landscape into the forest.
